TIME IS RUNNING OUT

What is Singapore doing to stop the illegal tiger parts trade? How can citizen-driven programmes protect wildlife? Is it too late to save the Siberian tiger?

These are just some of the pressing topics that was tackled in this year’s Singapore Tiger Week, our annual sharing of the state of tiger conservation in the world. Coinciding with International Tiger Day on 29 July, this year’s theme was ‘Time is Running Out.’

We brought together tiger researchers, government policy advisors, and conservationists to share successes, challenges, and ways forward to save tigers on the brink of extinction. At the closing of Singapore Tiger Week 2021, the Summary Statement was presented to Dr. Sivananthan Elagupillay, Honorary Member of the Global Tiger Forum (GTF), where he will bring to the attention of the GTF meeting later this year. The list of panelists and topics can be seen from the event calendar, and a recap of the talks can be found on our
SWAG Blog.

A big thank you to our speakers who were dialing in from all over the world, and also to our audience who made the event roaring success!
