Our focal wildcat species

Mainland Leopard Cat

The leopard cat, Prionailurus bengalensis, is Singapore's last native wildcat. It is similar in size to our domestic cat but it is more slender and has a tail that is half it's body!

Malayan Tiger

The Malayan tiger, Pathera tigris jacksoni, is a unique species that has once roamed the land in Singapore. It is now locally extinct since 1930 due to human impact.

The Malayan tiger holds a special place in our hearts and we believe in taking meaningful action to protect the world's few remaining Malayan tigers living in the wild.

How have we been helping

Mainland Leopard cat

Love our leopard cat campaign is a series of on-going events to raise awareness of our very last wildcat in Singapore. It includes a lecture by our local leopard cat researcher, a locally produced film on The Last Wildcat of Singapore and other upcoming events.

Malayan Tiger

We raise awareness and educate through events such as organizing CAT Walk in Malaysia, Singapore Tiger Week, SWAG 100 challenge and much more.

Battling Illegal Wildlife Trade

Poached wildlife ultimately feeds an illegal commercial trade. For that reason SWAG has created an IWT (illegal wildlife trade) Task Force. This task force is charged to advocate for stronger detection and prosecution of IWT criminals.
